What is Different About This Course?

This people module has massively reinforced how important the quality of the communication is, rather than the quantity. It has made me reflect on what effect my own actions and behaviour have on the actions and behaviour of my staff. Nick Eames, Tyndale Vets Ltd
I was a little hesitant about doing the programme at first, in that although I am a member of our Senior Management Team, I am not a business owner, and wondered if this programme was mostly created for them. However, this turned out to be probably one of the most beneficial aspects in that the insights gained from each others perspectives throughout the experiential process facilitated a new level of learning that would not have been possible without. A particular objective of mine was to learn more about and expand upon my leadership style in particular within the veterinary profession and the diverse range of business owners and senior decision-makers accelerated that process immensely. While this style of learning may have been a relatively new style for most of us, the impact of the reflection and experimentation aspects were tremendous for me personally. I have learned new methods of communicating and leading, and had an opportunity to experience and experiment with them in a safe and fun setting. I am now equipped with a list of key insights and action points to implement in my practice. Joanna Byrne, Larkmead.
Business management training has helped me understand the basics of business. The literature is a rich source of techniques and applications from other industries that can be used to improve our veterinary practices and our group as a whole. The veterinary landscape is changing. Empower yourself to steer your business with purpose and vision. Colin Mitchell, Scott Mitchell Associates.
In a fast-changing world, the session on the theory of change has been particularly useful in making alterations in practice procedures over the last twelve months. Alongside that, a re-awakened awareness of the shadow one casts over the business has been helpful in looking at situations in a different light. Finally, the trust, respect and support that has developed between members of our group is something to be treasured. John Brentnall, Severn Edge Holdings Ltd.
It was great to be part of such an enthusiastic and supportive group and comforting to hear that so many of our problems are universal. In three days we could only begin to scratch the surface but there were a few real lightbulb moments and I came away with some useful tools and practical ideas to implement back in the practice. Andy Barrett, Kingsway Veterinary Group.
